Cookies Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This page explains which cookies Pickerway sets and why. Cookies are small pieces of text that websites save in your browser. Pickerway only uses cookies that are necessary for the Service to work - we do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Essential cookies we set
The following cookies are essential for Pickerway to function. They cannot be switched off through a preference, but you can block or clear them in your browser settings (doing so will sign you out and may break parts of the Service).
- session - keeps you signed in after you authenticate with a passkey, password, or Google account. Expires when your session ends.
- theme - remembers whether you picked Light, Dark, or System theme. Expires in one year.
- oauth_next - a short-lived cookie used during the Sign in with Google flow to send you back to the page you came from. Expires in ten minutes.
Third-party cookies
When you choose Sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on accounts.google.com as part of the OAuth handshake. Those cookies are governed by Google's privacy and cookie policies - we do not control them. Google only shares with Pickerway the email address, name, and avatar associated with the Google account you pick.
How to manage cookies
Every major browser lets you clear cookies, block new ones, or allow cookies only from specific sites. Instructions:
- Chrome: Settings -> Privacy and security -> Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings -> Privacy -> Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings -> Cookies and site permissions -> Manage and delete cookies and site data
If you block the essential cookies listed above, Pickerway will not work correctly - you will not be able to stay signed in, for example.
Changes
If we introduce new cookies - for example, if we ever add privacy-respecting analytics - we will update this page and the Last updated date above before doing so.
